Every year we provide assistance to families to prepare children K-12 for the new school year. In 2025, we distributed $2500 across 16 families.
We believe the best way to support each other is to provide strong community networks, including places for community to gather. The Church and the Farm provide these spaces. The goal is to continue to provide the necessary repairs to both locations while growing the programs for youth, teens, and adults.
Gentrification is a major threat to historically Black and minority neighborhoods throughout this country. Gentrification not only displaces homes and businesses, but breaks the community fabric that ties people together and makes them safer and more able to thrive. Keeping and transferring ownership of property in these neighborhoods with the current residents we believe is the best way to improve neighborhoods and maintain and grow the sense of community. Our goal is to help Black families into home ownership either through support of their purchases or direct purchase and transfer of properties.
Starting in November, we gather wishlists from families for children, parents, and for our single MAGEs as well. Lists are assigned to teams who help fill the wishes and needs of children and adults alike.
